Yumi's Cells Season 2 Ep 1: GOT7’s Jinyoung Confesses to Kim Go-eun!
Hey Daebak Fam and Yumi’s Cells fans! The popular K-drama adaptation of the webtoon, Yumi’s Cells, is finally back for a season 2!
For those new to the storyline, Yumi’s Cells (Season 1) follows the life of Yumi (starred by Kim Go-eun), a regular office worker navigating life and romantic relationships. The catch? Viewers see the storyline through the viewpoint of the cells in her brain controlling her everyday interactions.
Yumi's Cells Season 1 Recap
If you have watched Pixar’s Inside Out before, you could picture the personified emotions working similarly in Yumi’s Cells, but with a larger set of working cells to control her brain, emotions, thoughts, and actions.

After a bitter breakup, Yumi’s love cell falls into a coma and the other emotional cells try to revive her. The cells and Yumi stay in that tireless state of mind for nearly 3 years until game developer, Goo Woong (played by Ahn Bo-hyun), enters and shakes up her life romantically.
Goo Woong and his cells struggle to reveal his emotions. But as viewers, we get to see the development of both characters, cells, and their relationship as they grow closer.
The K-drama leaves viewers speculating if the two love cells can help take their relationship to another level or if their relationship falters by the end!
If you binged the entire first season or have been following since the beginning, you would know that Goo Woong and Yumi ended their relationship in the final episode of the first season.
This left many fans with mixed feelings, but it also left the floor open for new beginnings and new relationships for Yumi in Season 2.
Season 2 Episode 1 Review
Kicking off the first episode of the second season, viewers are first hit with a recap of Yumi and Woong’s relationship from the first season.
The first episode revolves around Yumi’s cells and their methods of getting her to move on from Woong in a variety of ways including deleting his number, going shopping, and karaoke until 2 am.
These actions bring out an entirely new kind of cell, Inner Feelings. But Yumi’s attempts all go down the drain when she sees a frog hoodie that brings up the memory of the first time she and Woong met, causing her to break into tears.
New to Yumi’s Cells season 2 cast is Yoo Ba-bi (played by GOT7’s Jinyoung), who immediately shows up in the first episode.
When Yumi goes to work the next day, she sees her coworker Ruby attempting to flirt with Yoo Ba-bi, who catches Yumi’s attention. But as the episode continues, we see Ba-bi mainly has eyes for Yumi. He ends up surprising Yumi with a confession and a date!
Yumi's cells season 2 episode 1 left viewers at a cliffhanger, waiting for her response in episode 2. However, from the season trailers alone, we can expect to see a lot more Jinyoung this time, exciting Ba-bi x Yumi supporters all over the world!
